When we hear the word Sepsis we shutter. I am sure we have all heard stories. According to the Centers For Disease Control, Sepsis can cause death because the infection shuts down our lungs, gastrointestinal tract and urinary tract. The disease can start in any one of those systems.

Of the 1.7 million cases of Sepsis yearly, about 280,000 Americans die, according to the Centers For Disease Control. It's very important to obtain immediate treatment if you develop Sepsis.
