Children get Covid just like everyone else.

Except, about 1 in 10,000 get a system-wide inflammatory disease in which the body cannot distinguish between good cells and virus cells and begins attacking all cells. In children, this condition is called MIS-C.

The Centers for Disease Control has identified about 10,000 cases of MIS-C as of 2020 and 79 deaths.

Following Covid, antibodies develop and usually go away. But in some children, scientists found a protein that is in every cell called SNX8, and the children with MIS-C develop antibodies and Killer T cells, which usually only attack virus cells.

However, they begin attacking healthy cells too with the protein SNX8, and the children end up injuring organs.

Scientists always knew that infections could mess up the body into attacking itself. But this is truly heartbreaking! This has nothing to do with Long Covid.

This is a massive inflammatory disease which is causing some children to die. Tragic!!!!
